Employee Appreciation!
Meet Jen Scheve!
Jen recently joined the Special Living Services (SLS) department and has quickly become a valued member of our team. She has demonstrated exceptional dedication by learning the routines of multiple houses and frequently picking up additional shifts.
When asked about her favorite aspects of working at The Arc, Jen shared that she enjoys engaging with clients by creating fun and creative snack ideas, assisting in interactive science activities, and baking together. She describes her experience at The Arc as creative, rewarding, and with a family-like culture. Jen appreciates the supportive atmosphere, where everyone encourages one another and celebrates achievements. She finds joy in each day being different, making every experience unique and exciting.
Outside of work, Jen stays busy with her family as a devoted mother of two and a proud aunt. She has a passion for animals, enjoys experimenting with different hairstyles and colors, and loves watching various series on Apple TV.
Thank you, Jen, for your dedication and contributions to The Arc. We look forward to seeing all you accomplish with us!
Arc Achievers!
Meet Maya!
There is a very special young lady who joined the Youth Daily Living Skills Program (YDLS) just this October. Her name is Maya James!
Maya isn’t new to The Arc, she has been attending the Youth Community Enrichment Program since last winter and was well-loved right from the beginning. Everyone wanted to play with Maya! She has made many friends, and the amount of energy she has is simply AMAZING!
We noticed how well she was doing in the Youth Community Enrichment Program (YCEP) and felt she could be just as successful in the YDLS program, with more challenges and skill-building opportunities. She has become more independent and shows growth in many ways.
Maya is very talented. She has discovered that she is a wonderful cook and has started saving recipes we use to make a cookbook. She loves animals and enjoys helping out at Critter Junction every other week. Maya is always willing to go anywhere and do anything! She loves to learn and has a wonderful sense of humor. It is heartwarming to see Maya help her friends as well. She makes a special effort to include her peers in activities, when they may need that extra encouragement.
Maya has a bright future ahead of her, and we are glad to be a part of it!

Arc Achievers!
Meet Tim!
He is new to The Arc family but has made a huge impact on everyone who has had the privilege to work with him already! He attends our Adult Day Services Program and participates in CEP activities and Special Olympics events. He’s a very busy man!
One of the events Tim enjoys is Special Olympics bowling – he even went to state this year! He also enjoys going to the dances, Worship at the Cross, bingo nights, and pizza nights and participated in Fondy Idol this year as well. Tim had some amazing dance moves and when it was his turn to sing his solo, he did it with 100% confidence!
Tim is someone who can always put a smile on your face. Just a simple “hi” with his big smile can make anyone’s day better. If you ever need a partner for a Disney trivia night, Tim is your go-to guy!
Outside of all The Arc events Tim participates in, he spends a lot of his weekends with his family. This winter, his brother who lives outside of the US, came to visit. He was happy to visit with his family. He’s also proud to be called Uncle Tim!
The Arc is proud to have Tim as a member of the family and we’re thankful to be a part of his journey. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes!
