Employee Appreciation!
Meet Kylee Wood, she has recently started working with our YCEP program this summer!
When asked to describe her time with the YCEP she said that every day is different, it keeps you on your toes and it is a fun and buzzing place to be during the day. The clients are talking, laughing, playing with each other, and creating a variety of projects that show off their creativity.
Kylee helps run activities by collaborating with co-workers to develop different and new ideas. She works alongside clients to gain knowledge of their interests and uses that information to build those interests into activities. She also works with the clients to build independence, which could be preparing meals, using utensils, or encouraging peer play.
Kylee isn’t afraid to jump in wherever is needed. She has crossed departments into Special Olympics where she has helped with a variety of sports and events. Kylee has enjoyed this as she can gain experience within a different department. Kylee said, “It was a blast to get to know clients outside of the YCEP. I got to meet clients that don’t normally attend day programs at the Arc, I also was able to talk with them about fun activities they were going to do this summer.”
Outside of work, Kylee enjoys playing a variety of sports including softball and pickleball. When the weather starts to get colder, she enjoys reading books and comparing them to the movies.
Kylee completes puzzles alongside her grandparent, timing themselves with how fast they can finish. When she isn’t doing any of those activities, Kylee likes to watch crime shows including NCIS and Criminal Minds.
The Arc is grateful that Kylee has joined the Arc Family and is excited to see what else she will do with us.
Arc Achievers!
Meet Paula Schumacher, she has been a part of The Arc Fond du Lac family since 2016. Paula is a very active member of The Arc. She is not only a resident, but also participates in our Community Enrichment Program, Special Olympics, and attends our Opportunities Center.
Paula participates regularly in Special Olympics Bowling, Swimming, Bocce, and most recently Cornhole. Her Cornhole team, Swimming relay team, and herself as an individual swimmer all made it to state qualifiers.
Paula always has a smile on her face and brings positive energy to everything she does. Whether Paula is participating or not she is always cheering on her teammates and encouraging them to do their best.
Outside all of her activities, Paula enjoys her work at Culver’s and loves all her coworkers. In her free time, Paula likes spending time with her family, doing crossword puzzles and watching wrestling on the TV.
